“How did you become a boudoir photographer?” is a question I get asked often.
So then I ask myself.. do I share the long or short version?!
While I could share with you my personal life journey of how I pursued my dream of being a boudoir photographer, I want to more importantly share with you the reason why I stopped and become a boudoir photography coach or husbands instead.
Why do I wake up every day and choose to be a boudoir photographer?
I’m going to give you the truth.
I’m a therapeutic boudoir photographer because of what I believe most deeply .
I'm passionate about seeing couples break past their own self-image issues that impede their God-given intimacy.
I'm passionate about married couples loving each other more, so that fathers and mothers can love their children better.
I deeply desire to partner alongside you and your spouse in your journey to self-love, and to teach you both how to use the art of boudoir photography to strengthen your marriage.
It's true, and yes, it's that simple.
I partnered with Jen, my wife, in her self-journey and saw her break through her own mental walls that held her back from loving herself more through her insecurities. Shortly after we were married, I sought to create a rejuvenating boudoir experience for her and it cascaded into other areas of her life. She saw the changes in herself, and encouraged me to share this with other everyday women, wives, and mothers.
"Let your yes be yes, and your no be no."
I've learned of this idea this year - and Jen and I have made an effort, decidedly, to make decisions that align with what we say we value. So we chose to begin helping others.
I'm able to express myself creatively while honoring the sanctity of the marriage bed, keeping it holy.
I do this by not sharing a single boudoir portfolio image over my 8 years of working with clients. Moreover, not a single image that you and your spouse takes during your 1-on-1 boudoir photography workshop will be shared with me. The husband is the photographer, the wife is the subject, and I am your coach.
When you need to refer back to what you learned, you can use your posing deck where I model the posing for you (or you can just use the images on your camera that you captured with you in it).
Here are some of the things that I hold true: Beauty exists. I will strive to find it everywhere I go and with everyone I meet. Mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional health is the platform for my life. My purpose integrates my inner life and my outer life. My marriage covenant is my most important relationship on earth.
My mission is to teach husbands to masterfully capture the beauty and sensuality of their beloved wife.
I will strive to teach your husband to capture you the way he his wife - beautifully and wonderfully made. These are all the reasons why I have a deep sense of gratitude, humility, and joy with each and every married couple that steps into my studio and lets me serve them.
